Assessment Process and Customer Engagement
- Introductory Session (up to 120 minutes): Set initiative expectations, review objectives, introduce CSDM and Foundation Data concepts, and collect initial inputs via questionnaires and self-assessments.
- Current State Working Session (up to 120 minutes): Discuss your current Foundation Data state and review leading practices.
- Foundation Data Analysis: ServiceNow platform architects analyze submitted inputs to generate specific recommendations.
- Recommendation Session (up to 120 minutes): Present detailed findings, discuss best practices, and outline potential next steps for execution and measurement.
- Optional Follow-up Session (up to 60 minutes): Opportunity for additional Q&A and further guidance upon customer request.
Key Customer Roles and Responsibilities
Successful assessment requires active participation from several key roles within your organization to cover the comprehensive scope of CSDM Foundation Data:
- Platform Owner: Oversees ServiceNow platform governance and alignment to business strategy.
- Platform Administrator: Handles daily platform administration.
- Enterprise Architect Lead: Manages enterprise architecture and governance.
- CSDM Champion/Sponsor: Executive advocate for CSDM adoption.
- CSDM Data Modeler/Manager and CMDB Manager: Responsible for data accuracy and certification within CSDM and CMDB.
- Optional Roles: Application Owners, Process Owners, Service Owners, Technical Governance Board Lead, Security Administrator, and third-party vendor leads as applicable.
Required Customer Inputs
- Completed CSDM Assessment Intake Questionnaire and Foundation Data Self-Assessment, submitted at least one week before the working session.
- Relevant CSDM-related materials such as Impact Plans, Architecture Blueprints, Objectives and Outcomes, Capabilities Maps, and Product Adoption Roadmaps.
Scope and Exclusions
This accelerator focuses exclusively on Foundation Data within the CSDM framework and does not cover:
- CMDB assessments or discovery of configuration items (e.g., servers, devices, software).
- Assessments or detailed design reviews of CSDM Application Services, Business Services, Technical Services, or Portfolio models.
- Technical troubleshooting or remediation of CSDM implementations or service mapping.
- Technical governance process deep-dives.
