This Accelerator is available exclusively for Impact Advanced and Total packages and complements the low-code development capabilities found in App Engine Studio.
What You Get
- Kickoff and Workshop Planning Meetings: Initial sessions to prepare and organize the program.
- Citizen Development Workshops:
- Workshop #1: Defines vision, creates a prioritized candidate list with use cases, develops value propositions, marketing messaging, recruitment plans, and an implementation timeline.
- Workshop #2: Focuses on enabling and empowering participants by reviewing training curricula, support models, responsibilities, and demand intake processes.
- Workshop #3: Establishes guardrails including instance architecture, design standards, security models, application lifecycle, testing standards, and app review processes.
- Deliverables: A readout deck and supporting Citizen Development assets tailored for the customer.
Customer Resource Requirements
The program requires dedicated customer roles including:
- Platform Owner: Accountable for overall platform governance, leadership, and alignment with business strategy.
- Executive Sponsor: The primary strategic contact for ServiceNow engagement.
- Platform Architect: Provides a comprehensive view of platform integration, policies, and organizational needs.
- Citizen Development Program Owner: Manages the day-to-day operations of the Citizen Development program.
Prerequisites
- Identification of key players including a required ServiceNow platform owner.
- App Engine license and relevant products must be installed and configured.
Important Considerations
This Accelerator or parts of it may not be available to customers operating in FedRAMP, NSC DOD IL5, Australia IRAP-Protected data centers, self-hosted environments, or other restricted settings. Additionally, ServiceNow does not take responsibility for implementing App Engine recommendations on customers’ sub-production or production instances.

Overview
The Citizen Development Program Design Accelerator provides Impact customers with prescriptive guidance to effectively develop a Citizen Development Program for the ServiceNow platform. ServiceNow technology empowers non coders, known as Citizen Developers, to build new applications and workflows without having prior coding knowledge using low-code development.
This Accelerator includes workshops to assess and create a prioritized list of candidates for Citizen Development, determine the required screening and training for them, and assess operational and technical governance to identify any necessary adjustments.

ServiceNow is not responsible setting up or for implementing App Engine' recommendations on Customer’s sub-production or production instances.
