    • Help Query Generation understand user questions and deliver more accurate results by customizing semantic metadata for Entities and Dimensions. Metadata includes semantic descriptions and usage instructions.

    Role required: sn_query_gen.admin or higher

    Procédure

    1. Navigate to All > Query Generation > Semantic Layer and one of the following child options :
      • To manage table metadata, open Entities.
      • To manage individual column metadata, open Dimensions.
      If you do not have this navigation path despite having the correct roles, you may be missing the entitlement.
    2. Find and open the Entity or Dimension record you want to update.
    3. Look for fields labeled Semantic Description and Semantic Usage Instructions.
    4. In the Semantic Description field, enter helpful information about the table or column, such as how it’s used in your business.
    5. In the Semantic Usage Instructions field, enter details about what kind of records or values are included.
    6. When you’re done, select Save to confirm your changes.
