    Key Features

    • Dashboards Library: Accessible via All > Platform Analytics > Library > Dashboards, it offers quick navigation between dashboards and related analytics libraries without disrupting workflow.
    • Role-Based Access: Dashboard functionality depends on user roles. Analytics admins (roles such as dashboardadmin, platformanalyticsadmin, and admin) have enhanced capabilities including creating, activating, deactivating, deleting, and categorizing dashboards. Users without admin roles have limited access.
    • Dashboard Components: Dashboards include various interactive components such as title selector, refresh status and button, certification and category badges, details and insights buttons, edit and more actions menus (for sharing, duplicating, printing, bookmarking, clearing filters, and deleting). Tabs and global filters allow organization of visualizations by theme or subject.
    • Dashboard Types: On Australia release instances, both Core UI and Platform Analytics dashboards coexist, with the unified analytics property enabling flexible use of both types.
    • Insights and Proactive Analytics: Dashboards support insights cards to provide contextual analytics and proactive insights to aid decision-making.

    What Customers Can Expect

By using Platform Analytics dashboards, customers can streamline data visualization and sharing across teams, benefiting from role-based controls to maintain data governance. Admins gain full control over dashboard lifecycle and categorization, while users enjoy user-friendly navigation and interaction with visual data elements. The coexistence of Core UI and Platform Analytics dashboards allows flexible adoption depending on organizational needs. Overall, this enhances data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency within the ServiceNow platform.

    Dashboards library overview

You can find all the dashboards that you have permission to access, dashboards that you own, dashboards that you have bookmarked, and dashboards that have been shared with you by navigating to All > Platform Analytics > Library > Dashboards. You can also directly access Dashboards from the filter navigation in Platform Analytics library pages.

Library pages like this one include a navigation pane that provides access to the other libraries and the Usage Insights page. Use it to navigate between the libraries without interrupting your workflow.

For information on role-based access for the filter navigation pane and Platform Analytics overview page, see Roles applicable for Platform Analytics overview page.

    Dashboards for analytics admins

The configuration of the Dashboards page and the data access depends on the user roles. Users without admin roles have limited capabilities, as compared to the analytics admins. The analytics admins can perform actions such as deactivating, activating, deleting, or creating categories. For Dashboards, the applicable roles are dashboard_admin, platform_analytics_admin, and admin. The lowest role required is dashboard_admin. For more information on all dashboard roles, see table Dashboard roles.

On Australia instances, you can find both Core UI dashboards and Platform Analytics experience dashboards in the Dashboards library.
