What You Get
- Introductory Customer Session (up to 60 minutes): Introduces the five pillars of data management—Data Architecture, Data Security, Data Quality, Data Operations, and Data Governance. Sets expectations for process, deliverables, and participation, including completion of intake materials.
- Customer Current State Working Session (up to 120 minutes): Reviews the customer’s intake questionnaire and self-assessment to discuss the current state of data management and governance practices aligned with the five pillars.
- Customer Review Session (up to 120 minutes): Presents tailored recommendations, leading practices, and discusses potential next steps for execution and measurement.
- Follow-up Customer Session (optional, up to 60 minutes): Provides a Q&A opportunity related to data management and governance guidance.

Customer Roles and Responsibilities
Successful engagement requires participation from key roles who are responsible for various aspects of the ServiceNow platform and data governance:
- Platform Owner: Overall accountability and governance leadership
- Platform Administrator: Day-to-day platform administration
- ServiceNow Platform Architect: Platform architecture and governance strategy
- Enterprise Architect(s): Alignment with organizational strategy and standards
- Data Manager and Foundational Data Manager: Management of ServiceNow data and foundational data subsets
- Security Representatives (CISO, Security Administrator): Security policy adherence and technical security administration
- Compliance and Audit Officer: Compliance and risk management oversight
- Recommended roles include: CMDB Manager and Data Owners responsible for specific data domains or integrations
Requested Information and Access
To enable effective assessment and recommendations, customers must provide documentation and data related to their ServiceNow implementation, such as:
- Data Architecture and Data Models
- Information Needs, Reporting Needs, Data Categorization, Data Sources, and RACI matrices
- Impact materials including Customer Impact Plan, Architecture Blueprint, Objectives, Capabilities Map, and Product Adoption Roadmap
Exclusions
This Accelerator does not cover:
- Remediation of data escalation issues
- Hands-on technical assistance with data configuration, customization, or troubleshooting
- Data management or governance for non-production environments (development, test, UAT)
- Definition or documentation of data strategy, design, or architecture
- Assessment or troubleshooting of CMDB, CSDM implementation, or data integrations (separate accelerators exist for these)

Requested Customer Resources

Provides leadership and oversight to the System Administrators, ensures team alignment to business strategy and the ServiceNow roadmap, and is actively involved in the overarching governance of the platform. |
| Platform Administrator (Required) | Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the ServiceNow platform. |
| ServiceNow Platform Architect (Required) | Responsible for overall ServiceNow platform architecture, strategy, and governance. |
| Enterprise Architect(s) (Required) | Provides a holistic view of the organization’s strategy, processes, and other systems, including any necessary policy or organizational requirements. Helps guide the Platform Owner to align with technical or functional standards. |
| Data Manager (Required) | Responsible for overall management and maintenance of ServiceNow data. |
| Foundational Data Manager (Required) | Responsible for the subset of foundational data, such as, users, groups, locations, companies, and departments. |
| Representative of Chief Information Security Officer (Required) | Responsible for the organization’s security policies, processes, practices, and technologies. Promotes adherence to security policies and procedures. Helps guide the Platform Owner to align with security standards. |
| Security Administrator (Required) | Responsible for installing, administering, troubleshooting security capabilities, and configuration that complies with Technical Governance guidance. Promotes adherence to security policies and procedures. |
| Compliance and Audit Officer (Required) | Responsible for compliance, risk management, and audit procedures. |
| CMDB Manager (Recommended) | Maintains the accuracy and integrity of the CMDB configuration data; works with teams to certify data. |
