This library is accessible via All > Conversational Interfaces > Assistant Designer, under the Asset library tab. Depending on whether ServiceNow Otto for Virtual Agent is installed, you will see either an updated or legacy user interface.
Key Features
- Navigation Header Bar: Provides easy navigation between Assistant Designer settings, open topics as tabs, and user preferences. It supports grouping topic tabs by application scope with color coding.
- Topic List Controls: Includes filtering and management controls for Virtual Agent topics. Users can toggle between LLM and NLU/Keyword topic lists, filter by assistant, and test topics using Standard, Enhanced, or Premium chat options based on configuration.
- Topic Types: Easily filter and view different topic categories such as basic topics, subflows, actions, custom skills, AI agents, and agentic workflows.
- Search and Filter: Search for topics by name or use complex filters to quickly locate assets within the library.
- Topic Records List: Displays detailed information on each topic including name, type, status (draft, published, modified), activity state, last modified date, description, and promotion status across assistants.
- Contextual Actions for Topics: Manage promotion, discoverability, visibility, active status, and conversational settings directly from each topic’s action menu. Topics must be active to be promoted or made visible.
- Side Panel: Provides quick access to recently opened topics, last updates by users, and resources such as localization insights, product documentation, and migration tools for moving NLU topics to LLM (available when ServiceNow Otto is enabled).

The Assistant Designer Asset library lists all LLM assets and NLU/Keyword topics available in your instance. You can also create more topics, subflows, actions, custom skills, AI agents, and agentic workflows.
To navigate to Assistant Designer Asset library, select , and select the Asset library tab.
