Default Retention Policy is getting applied to the EDM Documents instead of the Retention Policy that is supposed to be applied eventhough the HR Criteria is met.

Hi,
We are currently implementing Employee Document Management (EDM) and we have a scenario where the Retention Period is based on the End date of the employee (from HR Profile). When the end date of the employee is empty, the default Retention Policy is getting applied to the documents instead of the actual Retention Policy with HR Criteria (Even though the Criteria is met). I would like to know
1. The reason behind this behaviour
2. If there is any way to avoid this?
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your reply. We have 2 policies for a Document type.
1. A default Retention policy based on 'Document Creation date'.
2. Retention policy 'X' with a Retention period based on End date and HR Criteria based on location. Let's say the location in the HR Criteria is 'UK'.
The document of an employee who's from UK is supposed to have Retention Policy 'X', instead the Default policy is getting applied. Obviously the purge date gets refreshed/recalculated once the end date gets updated but the issue is what if the end date of the employee remains blank until the document reaches it's purge date which was calculated based on the default policy (creation date).
Thanks,
Sharmili

@michaelj_sherid Did you ever have any feedback to this last response. We are seeing this issue and can not find the reason why this would occur.
