Hi,
One the approvers X is on long leave so the approvals need to route to a delegate Y, from the X user record I created a delegate and added Y and checked the Approvals checkbox, but the approvals are still going to the person on leave.

So after you submit a new request it is not assigned to Y? Have you tested? What is in the activity log?

OK, but in the post below you say approvals are there an emails are not. If only the emails are missing then you have to place a checkbox on All Notifications option.

The approval record will be avilable for both - user and delegate. if you impersonate as Delegate (Y) and open My approval module , you will find the query as approver is X or Y and state is requested
Can you please check and comfirm?
