Using the map screen

  • Use the map screen to see highlighted locations associated with records. You can switch between the map view and list view to help you understand the information displayed within a map.

    Map screens help you see location-based information on a map from your mobile app. Points of interest are displayed in a map using pins that are configured by the administrator. These pins represent things like the location of work order tasks or incidents that need addressing. You can switch between a map view and a list view to obtain additional information displayed on a map.

    The table describes the various indicators and icons displayed in a map screen.

    Icon / Indicators Definition
    Location identifier. My location button. Tap to find your current location on the map.
    Note:
    You must enable the location option on your mobile device settings for this functionality to work.
    Overview identifier. Overview button. Tap to see a zoomed-out view containing your points of interests and your location on the map.
    List button. List button displayed in the map view. Tap to display the list view.
    Identification indicator number one. A selected point of interest. In the image, the pin is enlarged because it is selected. The corresponding card with data is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
    Identification indicator number two. Area point of interest. This icon represents a clustering of points of interest in an area. Tap on the icon to see any combination of the following:
    • Single points of interest
    • Multi-record points of interest
    • A point of interest consisting of additional aggregated points of interest. In the map of South America below, there are 11 points of interest highlighted within a location in Bolivia. As you zoom in, you see how these points of interest are distributed over different locations.
    Identification indicator number three. Multi-record point of interest. This icon represents many points of interest at the same address. For example, shopping malls or an office building may fall into this category.
    Identification indicator number four. A single point of interest that is currently not selected.
    Identification indicator number five. Your current location
    Map button. (Not shown in the map view image above) Map button displayed in the list view. Tap to display the map view. This button is the only icon displayed in the list view.
