  • Install the Service Graph Connector for OT Discovery before accessing the Discovery for OT packages. You must also install a Linux distribution on the same machine the Discovery Console for OT is installed on.

    Before you begin

    Role required: user

    About this task

Once the Linux OS is installed on the device with the Discovery Console for OT installed on it, do the following.

    Note:
When running the installation for any of the supported distributions, you’ll want to use the minimal installation, no desktop environment, but include an SSH server in the package selection.
Important when setting up your VM environment:
    • Verify that the CPU settings for the VM are set to host; the hypervisor/host system must include support for the AVX/AVX2 instruction set.
      Note:
Be sure you have set this correctly; otherwise, MongoDB may crash when you attempt to restart the VM.
    • Allocate 16 GB RAM for the Linux installation.
    • The OT Discovery Console requires a minimum of 100 GB of storage. Increase the storage based on Deep packet capture inspection requirements. See Requirements for Discovery Console for OT installation or Operational Technology Discovery deployment scenarios for information on storage requirements.
    • You must be on a VM to access images in the Discovery Console for OT.
