Portal Alert without going through MIM Workbench

Hi

 

Is it possible to generate a Portal Alert without it having to be created via the MIM Workbench and the incident as been promoted to a Major Incident.

 

We know we can add an Announcement, but that doesn't allow users to click on the announcement and an incident is logged.

 

We know it works when its been promoted to a Major Incident but would like the option to create a  create a Portal Alert, when its NOT a Major Incident, that would allow users to click on the link (message) on the Portal if they are affected by the issue, advising of the workaround so that it generates a child ticket and links to the parent.   

 

Is this possible ?

I think no, not a way to do this. You can update IVR or add announcement   that will be helpful.

Thanks for the response, I had a feeling that may be the repy,

 

Which is a shame, as its a functionality that is useful, but shouldn't just be for a major incident. 

 

We know we can add the announcement and  FEM but its about being able to reduce the number to tickets coming into the desk, where there is an issue, and we have a workaround, just wanted the ability to just create a Portal Alert.  

 

Which to me would be a viable option.
