  • Use the Submit an Automation Request form to create an automation request in Service Catalog.

    Field Description
    What is the request type?

    Select the type of request you want to create.

    • If you are creating an automation request, select Automation. Create automation requests when you want to automatically streamline your business processes, reduce the time that you spend on manual activities, and reduce your costs.

    • If you are creating an action request, select Action. Create action requests when you want an automated solution to repeated issues that are causing the automations to fail.

    • If you are creating a review request, select Review. Create a review request when you want the COE team to review an automation and analyze if the automation is required.

    Process name Name of the process.
    Provide a brief description of the process Description of the automation process.
    Department Associated department of the automation request.
    How many steps are involved in this process? A step is considered any individual activity, action, or decision that contributes to the completion of the process.
    What is the interval type of the business process execution? Field that describes if the cadence of the business process execution is by minutes, hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly.
    How frequently is the business process executed (for example every 90 minutes or every 2 hours)? Number of times that the automation process is executed per interval.
    Identify all applications/systems involved in the process Field used to edit all applications and systems involved in the automation process.
    What is the actual time spent per run? The time that the manual run takes to complete.
    Do you perform this process? Field that shows if the execution is performed by the person submitting this request.
    Identify the process owner Person responsible for designing an effective and efficient process.
    Attach relevant files Relevant documents that you attach to support the automation process.
