    Document Intelligence tool overview

    A tool is a utility in Now Assist Skill Kit that is configured to convert skill inputs into skill outputs. The Document Intelligence tool uses generative AI capabilities to extract information and insights from document and image files. The extracted information is turned into structured data that can be used in the platform.

    You can use the tool editor to configure the Document Intelligence tool.

    Document Intelligence tool actions

    The Document Intelligence tool provides the following capabilities for a custom skill to process documents and images.
    Ask a question
    Define a question to ask the large language model (LLM) about the content of a file attachment.
    Extract information

    Pull structured data and insights from file content.

    Extract values from the files based on the fields, tables, and questions defined in a Now Assist in Document Intelligence use case. Use an existing use case or create a new one that meets the needs of your custom skill.

    Summarize files
    Generate a concise summary the key topics of the file content.
