A more efficient organisation accelerates scientific progress
Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne) is a multidisciplinary science and engineering research centre operated by the University of Chicago Argonne LLC for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). It relies on its researchers' interdisciplinary expertise to solve challenges in key areas that span from particle physics to large-scale engineering.

The responsibility and the need for efficiency within Argonne are staggering. Security regulations and the company's own standards for measuring results and efficiencies meant that the laboratory had to consider asset management on a more granular level, not only for organisational performance but also to allow scientists to do their jobs more efficiently. As it's transforming itself into a service organisation, it relies on ServiceNow to become more efficient in providing what science needs.

A wide array of ServiceNow products, including IT Service Management and IT Asset Management, have helped the organisation become less siloed and continually mature, with new capabilities developing each year. What started within IT services is now a platform that keeps growing. It links every service within the company, including lab operations, finance and communications, showing how each can work together. This is helping Argonne become more efficient and measure its outputs more successfully throughout the organisation.
