Promote or demote Virtual Agent LLM topics

Promote topics in Virtual Agent Designer after associating them with a large language model (LLM) assistant. Promoted topics are then suggested to the user by the LLM assistant.

Before you begin

Associate an LLM topic with an LLM assistant. For more information, see Create a Virtual Agent topic.

Role required: virtual_agent_admin or admin

About this task

When you create a topic in Virtual Agent Designer or open a non-read-only topic, you can associate it with an LLM assistant. After linking your topic, you can promote the topic so the LLM assistant suggests it to the user. You can also find promoted topics on the topic page by selecting the Promoted option from the Sort by drop-down list. Promoted topics can also be demoted to remove them from the list of suggested topics.

System topics, setup topics, topic blocks, custom controls, and small talk topics cannot be promoted.

The Promote and Demote controls appear if the topic is demoted or promoted, respectively. A Promoted category also appears on a promoted topic's card.

Procedure

1. Navigate to All > Virtual Agent > Designer.
2. Select the LLM assistant drop-down list, then select the LLM assistant that will promote the topic.
   The list of topics reduces to LLM topics that are associated with the selected LLM assistant.
3. Find the card for the topic that you want to promote or demote.
4. Select the topic actions icon (), then select Promote to add the topic to the list of promoted topics, or select Demote to remove it from the list.
   If the topic is already promoted, the topic has a Promoted flag, and the Promote option is replaced with a Demote option.

Result

The topic is added to the list of topics promoted by the LLM assistant, while a demoted topic is removed from the list.
