Add or remove CIs for single application services using connection suggestions
If discovery based on Predictive Intelligence is enabled, newly mapped application services include only configuration items (CIs) and CI connections added using discovery patterns. Use the suggestions for CI connections, generated by Service Mapping, to complete the application service.
Before you begin
- Confirm that fingerprint-based discovery remains enabled, since it is enabled by default. To verify, navigate to . Check that the sys_property process.clustering.appfingerprint.enabled property does not appear on the list.
- Confirm that discovery based on Predictive Intelligence is enabled. Navigate to the System Property [sys_properties] table and verify that the sa_ml.connection_suggestions.active property is set to True.

About this task
If discovery based on Predictive Intelligence is enabled, Service Mapping automatically adds connections to service instances based on connection rules. These suggestions are generated from traffic-related data in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and an analysis of application fingerprints, CIs, and processes. Predictive Intelligence evaluates and ranks the relevancy of these connections, and Service Mapping then uses this information to create connections and provide suggestions for servers and load balancers. Then you can decide which connections to add or remove from service instances. For more information, see Traffic-based discovery in Service Mapping.
