Exploring AI Control Tower Plan
AI Plan in AI Control Tower gives portfolio managers and AI COE leads a single place within AI Control Tower to view goals, intake, and delivery work scoped to AI investments.
AI Plan overview
AI Plan integrates strategic planning, intake management, and execution tracking directly into AI Control Tower. Without this integration, teams managing AI work must switch between AI Control Tower and separate applications to get a complete picture of goals, intake, and in-flight projects.
The Plan menu in AI Control Tower contains three pages: Strategize, Prioritize, and Execute. Each page displays data that is automatically filtered to AI-related work. Filters for Strategic Priority, AI System, and Department are available across all three pages and update widgets and lists dynamically. All data shown in AI Plan is from records of the underlying SPM tables, so information stays consistent with what teams manage in their SPM applications.
AI Plan users
The following roles use the Plan menu in AI Control Tower:
- AI COE lead: Reviews AI system alignment to organizational goals and strategic priorities across the organization. Uses the Strategize page to identify goals and targets that are off track and to assess how well AI systems are aligned to business objectives.
- Portfolio manager: Manages AI-related demand intake on the Prioritize page, identifies records that don't have an owner at risk of stalling, and tracks active AI projects and epics on the Execute page.
- Department head: Applies the Department filter to view goals, intake, and delivery work for their team only.
AI Plan workflow
AI Plan organizes AI portfolio work across three stages.
- Strategize

The Strategize page shows how AI systems align to organizational goals and strategic priorities. Widgets display goal, target, and strategic priority counts broken down by status (green, yellow, or red). The Goals and Targets list groups targets under their parent goals and shows each target's state, owner, and dates. Select a segment in a widget to filter the list to matching records. The AI System alignment widget shows what percentage of AI systems are aligned to at least one strategic goal.
- Prioritize

The Prioritize page consolidates all AI-related intake in one view. Summary cards at the top show the total number of intake items across demands, product ideas, and feedback. Separate cards flag demands, ideas, and feedback that are not assigned to anyone and at risk of stalling because no one is reviewing or routing them. Following the widgets, separate lists show demands, product ideas, and feedback records individually. New intake records can be created directly from this page using the New button on each list.
- Execute

The Execute page tracks active AI projects and epics. Widgets show project and epic counts grouped by state. The Project list and Epic list following the widgets display individual records with details such as project manager, portfolio, approved dates, state, and percent complete. Records can be opened directly from the list to view or update details.
