    About this task

An ECCN is a five character alphanumeric key that helps you identify products that are subject to export control regulations under the U.S. Department of Commerce. Each ECCN defines the export licensing requirements for a product based on the product type and the corresponding technical parameters. You can view the complete list of available ECCNs in the Commerce Control List (CCL), which is available on the Government Printing Office website as Supplement No. 1 to Part 774 of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to Workspaces > Software Asset Workspace.
    2. From the Software Asset Workspace, open the License operations view.
    3. From the navigation menu of the License operations view, navigate to Content > Software ECCN Mapping.
    4. View the complete list of ECCNs that are mapped to your software products.
      Note:
ECCN mappings are curated and stored in the Software Asset Management Content Library. However, the Content Service team does not dictate any mappings between the ECCNs and software products. Each ECCN is mapped to an appropriate software product based only on either the official ECCN information that has been published by the given software publisher or the official classifications that have been provided by the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).
