Associate a discrete asset to a linear asset

Associate a discrete asset to a linear asset in order to query and find these assets from the linear asset at a later point of time.

Before you begin

Role required: sn_eam.enterprise_asset_manager

Procedure

1. Navigate to Enterprise Asset Workspace > Enterprise asset estate > Linear assets.
2. Open the linear asset record with which you want to associate a discrete asset.
3. Select the Discrete assets related list.
4. Select New.
5. On the form, fill in the fields.

   Field	Description
   Discrete asset	Name of the discrete asset.
   Linear asset	Name of the linear asset that the discrete asset is associated to.
   Marker	Marker of the discrete asset. You can either select an existing marker or select the location picker to create a marker. Marker must be within the linear asset boundary, which is defined by the boundary width of the linear asset.
   Description	Description of the discrete asset.

6. Select Save.
