Test an Alexa skill on the developer console

Test your Alexa skill using the Alexa simulator and developer account once the installation is complete and the skill is built.

Note:

The Conversational Integration with Alexa application works for guest users. All published Virtual Agent topics (set up topics or topic blocks) are presented even if account linking is not done. For any regular topic, you must specify the Alexa channel in the Additional channel support field of the Topic Properties page. For more information about adding channel support to a Virtual Agent topic, see Deploying Virtual Agent topics in other channels.

Procedure

1. Log in to the Alexa developer console with your Amazon developer account.
2. Click the Test tab.
3. In the Alexa Simulator, type or speak the invocation name of your skill.

   For example, ask now virtual agent.

   Alexa responds to the Virtual Agent and returns a greeting message.
