The Process Play, a UK-headquartered ServiceNow partner operating across Europe and the US, was founded in late 2022. Alex Reilly-Jones, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer at The Process Play, explains how the partnership started. “We had just won our first significant contract, and we needed to ramp up our resources. But finding ServiceNow resources was hard—it’s a highly competitive market with huge demand. Then, we heard about a digital skills boot camp that ServiceNow was running together with London Northeastern University, and we went to a speed hiring event. And we found two real gems.

One of those gems was Famela Medina, a graphic designer who was looking for a fresh start in the technology industry. She was a standout during the boot camp and impressed The Process Play so much that the company hired her as a junior technical consultant. Just 18 months on, Famela has been promoted and is a key member of The Process Play’s team. And, in addition to working as a developer on customer projects, Famela also provides mentoring to students in the RiseUp with ServiceNow program, helping others to achieve success like she has. The Process Play also highlights how Famela’s graphic design skills make her a natural for UX/UI design—a hard-to-find skill in the ServiceNow ecosystem.

Buoyed by their hiring successes, The Process Play saw the opportunity to develop a pipeline of new talent to fuel their growing business. Raj Verma, CEO of The Process Play, says, “We realized the best way to do this was to get directly involved in the program. We had a lot of skills and experience we could offer, including real-life project experience. In fact, we’ve helped structure the program, so it runs like a project, and we bring in guest speakers who are experts in different aspects of project execution, such as engagement managers and business analysts. That means students come out with a real understanding of how a project works. It helps to develop the talent we need, and, of course, it’s a great way of giving back to the program and the wider ServiceNow ecosystem.”

According to Alex, “It’s a unique opportunity to develop people who share our approach and values. Often, experienced resources have a set way of doing things, but with RiseUp, we can bring in and train talented, driven people who embrace our culture and way of working from day one. That’s a huge benefit and differentiator for us. Yes, we need to invest in the people we bring on board—in fact, we’ve set up a consultant development program for this—but it’s worth it. About 20% of our consultants now come from RiseUp, which shows how well this works.”

New business opportunities and new markets

Alex also highlights several other key benefits of partnering with RiseUp with ServiceNow. He explains, “Getting involved with RiseUp has really increased our visibility in the ServiceNow Community. It’s helped to establish our reputation, and it’s led to recommendations that have grown our business. Also, many of our customers want to become self-sufficient—to manage their own ServiceNow platform—and we’re able to help them by introducing them to the RiseUp program. That really strengthens our customer relationships. And because RiseUp graduates come from many different backgrounds, we’re able to open up new markets—for example, in the Middle East.”
