Summary of Analyzing Data Integrations for Improving HAM Data Coverage
This guide helps ServiceNow customers enhance Hardware Asset Management (HAM) data coverage by analyzing current and suggested data integrations, such as Discovery patterns and Service Graph Connectors. By utilizing the Data integrations tab in the CMDB success advisor, users can assess the effectiveness of their integration sources and identify areas for improvement in HAM data coverage.

Key Features
- Integration Overview: Displays the count of active Discovery patterns and installed Service Graph Connectors contributing to hardware asset data in the CMDB.
- Status Indicators: Allows users to check the activity status of Discovery patterns and connections of Service Graph Connectors.
- Attribute Coverage Insights: Provides information on which hardware asset attributes are populated by specific integrations, aiding in understanding data completeness.
- Access Integration Details: Enables users to configure integrations to enhance attribute coverage for better data accuracy and quality.
Key Outcomes
By analyzing the data integrations, users can:
- Identify inactive Discovery patterns that may improve hardware asset attribute data.
- Recognize Service Graph Connectors that are installed but not actively connected.
- Prioritize hardware-related integrations to enhance the completeness and accuracy of hardware asset records in the CMDB.
Access to the CMDB success advisor is contingent upon the setup process being completed, emphasizing the importance of preparation before utilizing these features.
Improve HAM data coverage by analyzing existing and suggested data integrations, including Discovery patterns and Service Graph Connectors.
Use the Data integrations tab in the CMDB success advisor for HAM to assess the effectiveness of your current data integration sources in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and identify opportunities to improve HAM data coverage. The Data integrations tab provides a breakdown of active Discovery patterns and installed Service Graph Connectors, including how many key configuration item (CI) attributes each integration source is populating.
For a quick reference to improve HAM data coverage, see Data integration checklist for HAM in CMDB success advisor.
Access data integrations
Navigate to the CMDB success advisor , and on the HAM card, select View insights. Select the Data integrations tab. To access the dashboard, see Access CMDB success advisor.
