Summary of My Work in CWM

My Work in Collaborative Work Management (CWM) provides ServiceNow users with a centralized workspace to manage all assigned tasks across different applications, including project tasks, problems, incidents, and Connected Work items. This unified view eliminates the need to switch between multiple applications, enhancing efficiency and task tracking. However, tasks created in tables not extending the Task table (like VTask) do not appear unless configured by an admin.

    Key Features

    • Centralized Task View: Displays all assigned work items from various ServiceNow applications and Connected Work boards.
    • Filters: Task type filter to select specific task categories; date filter with predefined or custom ranges, including an option to show tasks without start or end dates.
    • Two Views:
      • Overview tab: Contains widgets summarizing work progress, including:
        • Overall Progress (percentage completed)
        • Counts of Open, Overdue, and Completed tasks with clickable links to detailed lists
        • Bar charts grouping tasks by state and priority, with interactive filtering
      • List tab: Displays all open assigned tasks in list or grid format with filtering and grouping options. Provides direct navigation to the source record for each task. Selecting a task description opens details in a modal pop-up.

    Important Notes and Limitations

    • Tasks without start or end dates are included only if the option is enabled; closed tasks without dates are not shown.
    • Bulk editing of task attributes such as state, priority, or dates is not supported within My Work.
    • Additional assignees must coordinate with admins to enable task visibility if tasks do not appear by default.

    What Customers Can Expect

With My Work in CWM, ServiceNow users gain a streamlined, single-pane view of all their assigned work, enabling easier prioritization and status tracking. The interactive widgets and filters help quickly identify overdue or high-priority tasks and navigate directly to task details or source records. This workspace supports better workload management by consolidating task information from across the ServiceNow ecosystem into one accessible location.

Manage your work from all ServiceNow applications from a centralized view in the Collaborative Work Management workspace.

My Work provides a centralized view of all your assigned tasks, including project tasks, problems, and incidents. It also offers visualizations that group items by state, priority, and status, such as open or overdue.

Work items from all ServiceNow applications assigned to you’re displayed in My Work. If you receive a work item on the CWM Board via Connected Work, those items appear here as well. This ensures you have a single source for all assigned work without the need to switch between applications.

    Note:
    • Any task record created in a table that doesn’t extend the Task [task] table, such as VTask, won't show up in My Work.
    • If you’re added as Additional assignee to a task, work with your admin to enable the display of such tasks in My Work. See Properties installed with CWM.

    • You can choose to include open items that don't have start or end dates.
My Work page has two views, Overview and List.
    • Overview tab shows multiple widgets that provide information related to the progress of your work. It also enables you to apply filters on the type of tasks that you want to view.
    • List tab shows all open work items assigned to you in a list or grid format, where you can apply the group by and filter options on the columns.

List view also provides a link back to the source of the work item. For example, if your work item is a Risk, the Source column in the List view provides a navigation to the RIDAC page of the Project Workspace application.
