Hyderabad, India, is a tech boomtown steeped in rich history. For those who’ve never been there, Rob B., a senior manager at ServiceNow, wanted to show what life is like for his colleagues in the bustling hub.
Different yet the same
“As a traveler, the paradox I keep coming back to is how different we all are, yet how very much the same we all are,” he says. “At ServiceNow, we’re showing the world how there can be extraordinary unity in diversity. We’re all connected.”
Indeed, the rich diversity of cultures employees bring to the workplace makes a company stronger, better prepared to work with global colleagues, and potentially more fun. That’s what’s behind our new travel video series, “Our World Our Work.”
Rob came up with the idea for the series and set out to learn about the food, culture, and people in other parts of the world.
Exploring areas near and far
The first two videos focus on Hyderabad employees and their favorite hot spots, activities, and customs. The third episode takes you to Bangalore.
Known as the Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore is home to 13 million people. Rob and other ServiceNow employees visit a Hindu temple there and a huge flower market that sells much more than flowers.
Future episodes will go beyond India to explore other beautiful locales, such as Singapore, Germany, and the Netherlands.
Engaging, unplanned moments
Through the series, we get to know employees holistically—their passions, their families, and their work. Sometimes the conversation drifts into social issues. For example, Priyanka V., a senior technical writer for ServiceNow, shares that, despite decades of progress, colorism is still an issue that affects her. Find out how she found the confidence to persevere.
Celebrating and honoring the plethora of backgrounds and experiences of employees while cultivating a culture of belonging makes ServiceNow a global enterprise primed for growth and success for years to come.
