Creating access to a better world

Creating access: people collecting garbage in a park

At ServiceNow, our defining impact is reflected in our purpose: to make the world work better for everyone. This permeates every aspect of our business—how we build technology, how we collaborate with customers and partners, how we support the growth of our people, and how we aim to do good in the world.

Our purpose, inspired by our founder Fred Luddy's vision, is the heart and soul of our company. Showing up hungry and humble is true to our roots.

Improving lives

Technology has the power to improve people's lives. Bridging the gap between the world we have and the world we envision requires breaking down important barriers.

By focusing on better access to AI and technology, opportunity, and knowledge, we're creating a ripple effect that makes the entire world work better. In short, we’re making it easier for people to innovate, learn, and grow. This includes:

We’re improving access to knowledge through digital skills training and education while advancing tech careers through RiseUp with ServiceNow.

For nonprofits solving the world's great challenges, we’re expanding access to technology resources and support.

For people across the world, we’re creating access to opportunity through donations and needed resources.

With those combined efforts, we’re setting a bold ambition. ServiceNow will work in partnership with nonprofits and customers to help accelerate impact and reach 1 billion people.

This includes our ambitions to positively affect 20 million people through our philanthropy efforts, as we reported in our Global Impact Report 2024.

Access in action

More than 90% of nonprofits agree digital experiences aren’t meeting the needs of donors, volunteers, and beneficiaries, according to the Nonprofit Digital Transformation Report by ServiceNow and ThoughtLab.

Yet 59% say AI, especially generative AI, will increase productivity, boosting their ability to raise funds, engage donors, and deliver on their missions.

Through ServiceNow.org, we’re helping close this gap while creating equitable access to AI and technology. We also work closely with nonprofits to help provide access to people who need it most. Through our partnership with GivePower, ServiceNow helps 1 million Kenyans access clean, safe drinking water daily.

In June, ServiceNow helped fund two solar-powered water systems in Kenya. This innovative solution combines solar power and advanced water purification technology to produce up to 75,000 liters per day of sustainable and reliable clean drinking water for the local communities. It has the potential to serve more than 35,000 people every day for 20 years.

The launch of these water systems marked our eighth project with GivePower so far: four solar water farms and four electrification projects.

Tim Muindi, group vice president of treasury at ServiceNow, was in Kenya for the launch. “Witnessing the joy on the community members' faces as they celebrated access to safe drinking water was truly inspiring,” he says. “I am proud to be a part of ServiceNow’s commitment to creating an equitable world for all.”

Leading with intention

ServiceNow’s global impact inspires a movement that removes barriers and creates opportunities to make the world work better. We have some of the most capable, resourceful, and innovative minds worldwide eager to fulfill our purpose.

This is our moment to shape the trajectory of how the world works in the 21st century—and to lead that endeavor with intention. We’re excited to continue to seize this opportunity together to show what it truly means to create access to a better world for everyone.
