Fulfilling our purpose together through volunteer opportunities

Fulfill our purpose together: ServiceNow employees volunteering

At ServiceNow, we live by our People Pact—a commitment to employees to do our best work, live our best lives, and fulfill our purpose together. Although each of these pillars holds different meaning for every employee, we strive as a company to make the world work better for everyone through innovation and impact.

Through resources such as giving campaigns, volunteer opportunities, and belonging groups, we provide forums for employees so they can do meaningful work that directly contributes to our impact.

Learning, growing, and giving back

“I think volunteer opportunities are a unique way to learn, grow, and give back,” says Carole L., senior program and change manager. She mentors early-in-career employees at ServiceNow and has expanded her mentorship experiences into programming sessions, including one in partnership with Fairygodboss, an online career organization for women.

“Thanks to ServiceNow, I’ve had an opportunity to get creative and build exploratory programs and conversational opportunities for those early in their careers,” she explains, “helping them figure out what they might want to do next.”

Carole’s fascination with mentorship grew because she lacked it early in her career. “What I have learned is that it’s invaluable to have someone who can guide or support you along the way, whether it’s a mentor or a sponsor, especially when you come from an atypical background.”

“Moreover, talking about diversity, equity, and inclusion has given me a chance to discuss something I hadn’t embraced before, and to continue to learn, grow, and support others in another way,” she adds.

Making an early impact

Anali P., senior go-to-market program manager, leads events for the Unidos at ServiceNow employee belonging group. She’s passionate about helping Latino high school students enter the tech industry.

“As a first-generation American and college student, I had to figure out everything on my own,” she says. “Getting into tech is tough, especially without family connections. I want to raise awareness of tech opportunities for everyone I meet.”

Anali volunteers her time by supervising and mentoring students from Cristo Rey High School in San Jose through ServiceNow’s work-study program. Students visit ServiceNow offices weekly, gaining hands-on experience from employees in various fields.

“It’s fulfilling because Cristo Rey students, who are 98% Latino, are now exposed to endless possibilities in tech. They know they can reach for the stars,” she says.

Baking for joy

“ServiceNow gives me a platform to work with charities I care about,” says pricing manager Mitali B. She’s been involved with numerous charities, including the Cake4Kids California chapter, which bakes and delivers free birthday cakes to underserved children, and House of Hope, a foster home.

Mitali’s passion for cake decorating has inspired her kids and colleagues to volunteer. “I got the entire pricing and monetization team to decorate 300 cupcakes. Some team members had never held a piping bag before, and it brought them joy,” she says.

Her passion goes beyond cake decorating, though. “I feel blessed with what I have today, and many people aren’t as fortunate,” she adds. “The amount we raised as a family from ServiceNow for the kids at House of Hope was immensely needed and provided a significant boon, making a substantial impact on their resources and support.”
