Moving abroad with a Fortune 100 Best Company to Work For

Our people pact: Rae Ann P. with her team in the Netherlands

After a 16-year pause to raise her children, Rae Ann P. reignited her career at ServiceNow—and found more than a job. When Rae Ann’s first role as a platform architect didn’t feel like the right fit, she let her manager know. He leaned in to help her find a better fit.

“That’s what I love about ServiceNow,” Rae Ann says. “They truly want you to bring the most value—and to do that, you need to be happy.” She wanted to take her career abroad and live in Europe. Thanks to her determination and ServiceNow’s support, she relocated to the Netherlands to take on the role of senior engagement manager.

Adjusting to life abroad came with some quirks. “One day, I had to stand up in the office and ask if anyone spoke Dutch, because the person on the phone helping me set up internet didn’t speak English,” Rae Ann laughs. “And I had to learn all about bike traffic—it’s a whole new way of life. My bike’s name is Gabby.”

One of Rae Ann’s first activities in the Netherlands was volunteering with co-workers to clean trash from the canals—an experience that helped her quickly feel connected.

Despite missing her daughters, who have since visited, Rae Ann has found community, purpose, and growth. “At other companies, words about employee support can feel like just talk,” she says. “But at ServiceNow, they truly believe in you. It’s no surprise to me that ServiceNow is among the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For.”
