Dr. Maohua Lu is a distinguished engineer for the Veza from ServiceNow identity security business. He was co-founder and chief technology officer at Veza (acquired by ServiceNow in March 2026), a category-defining identity security company, where he led the technical vision and long-term product initiatives. He now focuses on integrating and extending Veza’s technology with the ServiceNow AI Platform to position ServiceNow as the leader in identity security solutions.
Prior to Veza, Maohua was the first founding engineer at Datos IO, a distributed data management company, and a researcher at IBM Almaden Research Center. He holds more than 25 patents across storage systems, distributed systems, security, and modern data systems.
