The power of workflows at Knowledge 2021

Knowledge 2021 kicked off May 11 with exciting keynotes, panels, and discussions that brought together experts from every industry and from around the globe.

ServiceNow CEO Bill McDermott jump-started the event with “Workflow your world,” a keynote exploring why workflows are critical doorways to long-term business success. This main keynote set the stage for two weeks of discussions around the power of workflows to transform the way we do business, innovate, and communicate.

The most popular sessions the first week were What’s new in IT Service Management in the Quebec release and What’s new in IT Asset Management, which also covers coming trends.

Industry highlights

The first week of Knowledge 2021 featured leaders from a variety of industries: education, government, healthcare, technology, financial services, telecom, and beyond.

In education, we learned how the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) managed a complex education environment. By mobilizing stakeholders across the organization, the district enabled students to safely return to school during the COVID-19 crisis.

Juniper joined us from the legal world to share how it uses Legal Service Delivery to streamline the complex process of eDiscovery. Juniper’s global head of eDiscovery and digital forensics talked about how the company has reduced errors and streamlined its workflows, eliminating the need to work through cumbersome spreadsheets.

Experts from NHS Scotland described how they’re leveraging ServiceNow to manage contact tracing—as well as to support the Scottish government’s ambitions to provide the COVID-19 vaccine to citizens across the country. 

Under Armour recounted its change management process and workflows that enabled the organization to transition from a “get it done” startup mentality to a global growth mindset.

These major industry events were complemented by Think Big leadership sessions, which brought some of the world’s brightest minds to the screen. Attendees got the chance to hear from high-profile experts in media, tech, sports, and politics.

In Stories as diverse as America, ServiceNow Chief Strategy Officer Nick Tzitzon sat down with award-winning journalist Soledad O’Brien for a candid discussion about race, diversity, and social justice. O’Brien also provided ideas about ways leaders can better integrate diversity into their organizations.

What to look forward to

The CreatorCon Hackathon continues to be a big part of our Knowledge events. Be sure to tune in May 18 to see who’s crowned the 2021 CreatorCon Hackathon Winner for their innovative app.
