Russ Elmer serves as Special Counsel of ServiceNow. He believes that the legal and ethics function in any organization is a critical business partner in earning and maintaining customer trust and loyalty. From 2018 through 2025, Russ led ServiceNow's legal, ethics, and compliance function as General Counsel and Secretary, helping the company scale to meet the growing demands of our customers while maintaining their trust. Prior to joining ServiceNow, Russ held leadership roles at LendingClub Corporation, PayPal Holdings, Inc., following its separation from eBay Inc., eBay Inc., Pricelock, Inc., and E*TRADE Financial Corporation. From 1990 to 2000, he served as an attorney and partner at Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich LLP. Russ holds a J.D. degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law and an A.B. degree in Political Science and International Relations from Stanford University.
