Vanessa Smith is the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer for ServiceNow and President of ServiceNow.org. As Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Vanessa leads the company’s global strategy for government affairs and public policy, global impact and sustainability, strategic relations, and ServiceNow Africa.

In addition to her corporate affairs remit, Vanessa serves as President of ServiceNow.org—a global business dedicated to empowering nonprofits and mission-driven organizations with access to the transformational power of AI and technology to tackle the world’s most pressing challenges.

Vanessa and her team work at the intersection of the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, combining expertise in AI and digital transformation with a deep commitment to social impact and responsible business. By engaging with governments, partners, and communities around the world, her team builds trust, influence and partnerships that create access to the digital / AI economy for all.

With more than 25 years of experience in enterprise software, Vanessa has held leadership roles spanning strategy, sales, and go-to-market transformation. At ServiceNow, she has led key functions including Inspire Value, Industries, Top Accounts, and Solution Sales. Before joining ServiceNow in 2020, Vanessa spent 16 years at SAP in multiple go-to-market leadership roles, including Senior Vice President of the North America SuccessFactors business and Regional Vice President of the Strategic Customer Program. She began her career in consulting with A.T. Kearney before entering the technology sector in 2000 at GE Information Services.

Vanessa serves on the board of directors for Fastly, Inc. and as Board Chair for Teach for America’s Greater Philadelphia region. She holds an MBA from the University of Maryland and a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia.
