With an impending merger, Safeway needed a unified system for finance, logistics, customer rewards, and employees that would seamlessly combine data from the two existing systems. CIO and SVP, Barry Libenson, led this effort by leveraging the ServiceNow platform. He said, "The whole idea behind implementing ServiceNow was to better track what was going on inside the application portfolio across all the different lines of business that we had, so we could determine where we need to make investments. And it paid off huge." By utilizing a single system of record and automation, Safeway has improved transparency and efficiency.
