Desktop reference guide templates

The desktop reference guides are designed to be simple, at‑a‑glance visual aids to help users with the basic processes and features of ServiceNow® as it relates to their role.

The PowerPoint templates are customizable so you can meet your specific requirements. For example, you can change text, color, layout, or format, and add elements used in other templates you have created. These give you a head start, but where they end up depends on your organization's needs.

Once you create a desktop guide, make a Knowledge Base (KB) article from it. Then you can prominently display the KB on users' home pages so it's easy for them to find.

These are the desktop reference guide templates you can download:

  • One‑page end user desktop guide template
  • One‑page desktop guide template (fulfiller or manager) – More complex than the end user template, it assumes they will need to outline additional steps
  • Multipage desktop guide template (end user, fulfiller, or manager) – Use for a click‑through demo or incorporate into a video overview; add additional pages or process highlights as needed
