ServiceNow is a great place to work. You feel like you are respected, and that’s most important for me to work at ServiceNow.
You belong at ServiceNow, Tokyo, Japan.
ServiceNow accepts multiculture. When we work, we don’t care about the nationality or what color you have. We really respect people’s thought. I think the environment makes me feel I belong here.
Right after joining the company, maybe I was a little bit too tense, a little bit stressed out. One of my stakeholders, colleagues, approached me and said, “Hey, Shingo, you know you should be more you. Be yourself. Bring yourself to the work. And, first and foremost, enjoy what you are doing.”
I can take time off without worrying about it. And if I need to do something, I can immediately consult with my team members and make plans.
As you can see, I am physically disabled. However, having a physical disability has nothing to do with my mental ability. In this company, they create a working environment where I can perform at my best mental potential, and my physical disability does not inhibit me at all. Therefore, I believe that this company gives me a sense of belonging and inclusion.
As I’m getting more mature in my career, I think having a healthy, good sleep, good eating, fun in your life, love with your family is a quite important baseline for better performance at a company.
For me, it’s really important that I get to watch NBA and also to play basketball a couple of times a week. So as long as I’m doing that, I know I’m having a healthy balance.
I have a very young kid who is 3 years old. So sometimes he gets sick, and sometimes I need to take him to kindergarten by myself in the morning. But I get to choose all the schedule for myself, so it's very flexible.
Basically, I am happy every day, and every day constitutes a great learning opportunity.
I think it's about belonging. As you can see from my outfit, the green jacket is the color of the ServiceNow corporate, so I think this moment is belonging. I'm also wearing a T-shirt here today, but I feel like I belong to this moment.
