AI Data Explorer is your AI companion for instant insights and deep data explorations. Ask quick questions, receive tailored recommendations, and collaborate with AI and your colleagues to build long-term analysis.

AI Data Explorer overview

The objective of AI Data Explorer is to bring your thoughts into one place by empowering users to explore, generate interesting findings, and collaborate seamlessly. This is achieved through an AI-assisted, interactive exploration that serves as a centralized space for data-driven decision making.

Note:

AI Data Explorer supports English only. Queries in other languages are not supported.

AI Data Explorer can be divided into the following sections:

• Exploration list. Expand or hide the list with the show/hide icon . The list shows all explorations that you own or that have been shared with you. You can also create exploration with the plus (+) icon.
• Title and action bar. This section includes the following:
  • An editable title for the exploration
  • Buttons for summarizing the exploration and asking a question about data
  • A More Options menu for sharing and deleting the exploration

  It also shows which other users are currently in the exploration. You can share an exploration only if you own it or it has been shared with you with sharing rights.

• Exploration content. This section displays the results of data exploration queries. The results typically include a data visualization or list and a summary of the contents of that visualization or list. The exploration can also include its purpose or goal and any text that the participants have added, such as a discussion about the results.
• Field for adding your own text. See Write or edit text in an exploration.
• Follow-on section. Here you can perform a number of actions to follow up on your original question and response:
  • Ask a new question, to generate a new response. This questions is not necessarily related to the original one.
  • Switch between Extended and Standard analysis. Extended analysis provides more detail but is more resource-intensive. For more information, see Extended analysis.
  • Ask a suggested follow-up question.
  • Receive AI recommendations of actions to take based on your current exploration. For more information, see View recommended actions in AI Data Explorer.

User	Description
Exploration creator	Creates new explorations. Sets the goal of the exploration. Generates the first graphics. Can use the exploration just for themselves, or can invite participants and viewers, who must have access to the data in generated data visualizations. Role required: now_assist_explorer_user or higher.
Exploration participant	Anyone with whom the exploration is shared with editing rights. Can generate more data visualizations or comment on the exploration. May be able to share the exploration further. Role required: now_assist_explorer_user or higher.
Exploration viewer	Anyone with whom the exploration is shared either without editing rights or without the now_assist_explorer_user role or higher. A viewer cannot ask questions of the AI or add text to the exploration, but they can read it.
