- Multimodal Caption Generation: Automatically generate captions for images, tables, charts, and complex layouts in attachments and files during content crawls. This improves search recall by allowing keyword matches from generated captions.
- Multiple Connectors per ServiceNow Instance: You can create and run multiple ServiceNow instance connectors on a single AI Platform instance, increasing scalability and coverage.
- Flexible Crawl Scheduling: Webcrawler external content connectors support daily, weekly, or monthly crawl schedules, enabling tailored content indexing frequencies.
- Sitemap URL Retrieval: The Webcrawler connector now retrieves content and links from URLs found in sitemaps that align with the crawl’s starting point, improving crawl scope and precision.
- Enhanced Crawl Visibility: Start points for scheduled partial content crawls are accessible via direct links in both crawl lists and history entries, simplifying crawl management.
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) Support: Limited RBAC mapping is now available for the Atlassian Confluence Cloud connector, aligning source system permissions with users in your ServiceNow AI Platform instance.
Activation and Usage
External Content Connectors are available through the ServiceNow Store and must be requested and installed via the Store application suite. Once installed, configure external content connectors within AI Search to incorporate external data sources into your search results effectively.

Install External Content Connectors by requesting the External Content Connectors Application Suite from the ServiceNow Store.
