Access and Roles
To access the dashboard, navigate to Cloud Discovery Workspace > Cloud Discovery > Schedules. Users require the sncloudopsws.cloudopsadmin role to view and manage the dashboard content.
Key Features
- Resource and CI Metrics: View counts of total Configuration Items (CIs) discovered, newly discovered CIs, and CIs absent from the previous discovery run.
- Error Tracking: Monitor the number of discovery errors encountered during the selected discovery run.
- Duration Tracking: See the time taken to complete the discovery run.
- Reports: Includes bar charts showing resource counts and time taken for the last 10 discovery runs associated with the selected schedule.
- Filtering and Sorting: Filter schedules by cloud provider or schedule name and sort by alphabetical order, error counts, or discovery status. Only the last 10 discovery runs are available for selection in reports.
Use Cases and Users
Administrators and discovery operators can leverage the dashboard to:
- Track CI discovery trends and resource counts over multiple runs.
- Identify new and missing CIs between discovery runs to maintain accurate CMDB data.
- Analyze errors and duration to improve discovery efficiency and reliability.
Important Notes
- The Newly discovered and Absent from last indicators apply only to pattern-based discoveries.
- Cloud Discovery Workspace will be hidden and not activated on new instances moving forward, though it remains supported for existing customers.
- For the most updated experience, transition to the Discovery Admin Workspace, as detailed in the ServiceNow knowledge base.

Indicators
- Total Resources
- The indicator displays the total count of Configuration Items (CI) discovered during the selected discovery run.
- Newly discovered
- The indicator displays the count of new CIs discovered during the selected discovery run.
- Absent from last
- The indicator displays the count of CIs missing during the selected discovery run. That is, CIs were discovered during the previous discovery run, but are missing during the selected discovery run.
- Errors
- The indicator displays the count of discovery errors that occurred during the selected discovery run.
- Duration
- The indicator displays the time taken to complete the selected discovery run.
