Azure Service Bus Namespace pattern-based discovery
Summarize
Summary of Azure Service Bus Namespace pattern-based discovery
The Azure Service Bus Namespace pattern-based discovery in ServiceNow enables automated identification and mapping of Azure Service Bus Namespace resources within your cloud environment. This capability integrates with the Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns application, which must be updated to the latest version for optimal functionality.

This discovery pattern populates data both into the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and non-CMDB tables, supporting comprehensive resource management and visibility.
Key Features
- Pattern Activation: The Azure Service Bus Namespace discovery pattern is disabled by default. Starting from Visibility Content version 6.28.0, enabling or disabling patterns is streamlined and retains update compatibility without being treated as customizations.
- Discovery Prerequisites: Microsoft Azure discovery prerequisites must be met, including setting up Azure service accounts correctly, especially for Azure GovCloud (US), which requires using datacenter-specific URLs.
- Data Storage:
- Non-CMDB Tables: The Azure - Service Bus Namespace - Extended Inventory (LP) pattern populates detailed resource attributes in non-CMDB tables accessible via the Azure configuration section.
- CMDB Tables: Key resource information is stored in CMDB tables to maintain accurate service and resource records, including operational and installation statuses.
- Configuration Item (CI) Relationships: The pattern establishes relationships between resources, resource groups, and Azure datacenters to model dependencies and hosting infrastructure accurately.
- Azure Tag Discovery: Tags associated with Azure resources are collected and stored in the Key Value table, enabling effective tagging and classification within your CMDB.
Key Outcomes
- Automated and accurate discovery of Azure Service Bus Namespace resources within your Azure environment.
- Comprehensive data population in both CMDB and non-CMDB tables, supporting detailed resource management and reporting.
- Robust CI relationship mapping that aids in understanding resource dependencies and infrastructure layout.
- Improved resource tagging visibility, facilitating enhanced asset management and governance.
- Support for Azure GovCloud discovery through appropriate configuration, ensuring compliance with regional cloud deployments.
Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns finds Azure services on your cloud environment. Discovering some of these resources may require updating to the latest version of the Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns application from the ServiceNow Store.
Pattern-based discovery and mapping requirements
- Verify the Microsoft Azure discovery prerequisites
- For more information, see the prerequisites section in Microsoft Azure Cloud discovery using patterns.
- Enable the relevant pattern
- The pattern for this service is disabled by default. Starting with Visibility Content version 6.28.0, activating or deactivating a pattern won't be considered a customization, and it will continue to receive updates. Patterns that were previously activated or deactivated will reset to the latest predefined version after upgrading while retaining the last active field value. For more information on enabling patterns, see Activate a disabled pattern.
- Configure the Discovery schedule to support GovCloud
- Discovering Azure GovCloud (US) accounts requires using a datacenter URL when setting up an Azure service account. For more information, see Set up Azure service accounts.
Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns application populates data in both CMDB and non-CMDB tables.
Data stored in non-CMDB tables
Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns application populates data in the non-CMDB table when running the Azure - Service Bus Namespace - Extended Inventory(LP) pattern.
You can review the non-CMDB Azure tables by navigating to . You can also search the navigation filter for the specific pattern name.
