Opportunity Marketplace overview

The Opportunity Marketplace is a single, unified space where individuals and organizations can share opportunities that are discoverable by employees.

Opportunities in the marketplace include internal jobs that are relevant to employee aspirations, which help with career exploration, growth, and internal mobility.

Use the following marketplace features to help you grow in your career journey:

• Search for available opportunities within the organization.
• View opportunities that might interest you based on roles that fit with your skills, experience, and aspirations.
• View opportunities that have been shared with you and share opportunities with other coworkers.
• View opportunities that are featured by the organization.
• View testimonials from your coworkers that highlight their success.
• View recommended opportunities based on your current role, aspirations, and top skills.

Note:

When searching for opportunities of interest, you can update your preferences to your working style, job level, and job location. You can also view your favorite jobs, share opportunities, and create aspirations.

The Opportunity Marketplace app helps you find the next steps in your career journey.

Feature	Description
Search available opportunities	Use the search field to populate a list of potential jobs based on job title, location, or description. Tip: The Opportunity Marketplace app supports the following search engines: AI search Zing search
Internal job (opportunities list)	An internal job listing shows the job title, job location, match analysis, quick view, favorite option, create an aspiration, and share this opportunity option. Note: You can also filter and sort the job list.
Match analysis (Job)	Shows how your skills match with a specific opportunity by displaying the skills requirements, skills needed, and preferences such as working style and location.
Quick view (Job)	Shows the job location, description, and applicant criteria details.
Create an aspiration	Optional feature that lets you create an aspiration for a specific job. You can choose an aspiration name, add a description, and save the draft aspiration.
Share this opportunity	Optional feature that enables you to share an opportunity with another coworker. You can choose who to share it with, add a personal note, and share opportunity.
Opportunities that might interest you	Shows specific opportunities that might interest you based on your profile details, current role, and skills.
Opportunities shared with you	Shows opportunities that have been shared with you by coworkers within the organization. Note: You can review these opportunities, favorite them, create an aspiration, and share it with other coworkers.
Featured by your company	Shows opportunities that your company has highlighted as a potential interest.
Testimonials from your coworkers	Shows testimonials or comments from your coworkers.

Note:

While mobile capabilities are supported for the Vancouver and Xanadu release, mobile capability is not supported in the Utah release.

AI search

Artificial intelligence (AI) embedded into a search engine helps you find what you're looking for through an intelligent, AI-powered search. AI search is an assistive technology tool that promotes accessibility through its search features. In contrast with Zing search, the search engine used in previous releases, AI search is more interactive, helpful, and faster at finding the answers you need. Employees and opportunity owners can find answers quick and conveniently with features like auto-complete search queries, natural language support, and typo handling.

When AI search is enabled via the ServiceNow® AI Search application, the Opportunity Marketplace app is able to leverage AI search and use its intelligent query features for all searches in the marketplace. With AI search enabled, the portal search engine captures information about the employee—such as their role, location, department, assets, and search history—and returns search results that are relevant and personalized. AI search also yields genius results that enable employees to interact directly with the search results that display the best answer for the search query.

Employees and opportunity owners experience the benefit of generating more sophisticated search results when they use the following search fields to explore opportunities in the marketplace:

Opportunity Marketplace

• The search field in the Welcome to the Opportunity Marketplace widget. This widget appears when you access the home page for the Opportunity Marketplace.
• The search field in the Search available opportunities widget. This widget appears when you access the Internal jobs page.

Employee Center

The search bar that appears on the global header in the Employee Center portal. The global header is the first row in the Employee Center portal. This search bar is accessible from any page in the portal excluding the home page.
