Create a personal authentication mode connection for Google

Summary of Create a personal authentication mode connection for Google
As a ServiceNow admin, you can establish a personal authentication mode connection for Google Calendar to synchronize reservations. This mode generates a user-level authentication token that allows creating, updating, or canceling reservations tied to a user’s Google Calendar. This integration ensures that events remain synchronized between ServiceNow and Google Calendar.

Reservation Restrictions
When personal authentication mode is enabled, several restrictions apply to reservation management, especially concerning blocker, onbehalf, and group reservations:
- Blocker reservations: Created in the delegated user's calendar with the requested-for user added as an invitee. If a blocker user is specified via system property, that user is added as an invitee instead.
- Onbehalf user reservations: Not supported in personal mode for synchronized calendars because access to other users' calendars is restricted. However, onbehalf reservations can be created for non-synchronized rooms.
- Group reservations: Not supported for synchronize-enabled rooms in personal mode, regardless of settings, but can be created for non-sync rooms.
Reservation Creation Rules
- In personal authentication mode, reservations can only be created if the requested-for user matches the session user. Otherwise, creation is blocked.
- For integrations outside ServiceNow interfaces (like IDEA panels or Reservation REST APIs), reservations are created in the delegated user’s mailbox with the requester added as an attendee, consistent with Strict mode behavior.
- In Strict or Normal modes, there are no restrictions on creating reservations.
Reservation Update and Cancellation Rules
- Normal mode: All reservations can be updated or canceled without restrictions.
- Personal authentication mode:
- If the reservation's sync mailbox is set to other (delegated user calendar), it can be updated or canceled in that calendar.
- If the sync mailbox is set to user, updates or cancellations are only allowed if:
- The operation is performed from supported interfaces (WSD Portal, Quick Reservation, WSD Mobile, or Event Planner).
- The session user matches the requested-for user.
- A personal authentication token exists for the user performing the update or cancellation.
- Reservations that cannot be edited appear dimmed in the event planner schedule view.
- Strict mode: Users can update or cancel only reservations synced to the delegated user's mailbox (other).
As an admin, establish a personal authentication mode connection for Google Calendar to synchronize reservations. A user-level authentication token is generated that enables you to create, update, or cancel reservations to synchronize events on the Google Calendar.
