Setting up DEX Desktop Assistant
Set up Desktop Assistant to give end users quick access to self-service and diagnostic tools, timely notifications about outages and announcements, and support options like Employee Center, Virtual Agent, or live agents.
Configuration overview
You must have the Desktop Assistant administrator role [sn_dex_desktop.admin] role to configure Desktop Assistant.
- Download and install Desktop Assistant.
- Configure Open Authorization details.
- Customize Desktop Assistant home page.
- Enable or disable notifications.
- Enable Virtual Agent or chat.
- Map a card to a section or Delete a card from the Desktop Assistant home page.
- Add a section in the Desktop Assistant home page or Delete a section from the Desktop Assistant home page.
Note:
If you experience issues with Desktop Assistant, troubleshoot them by accessing the logs at these locations:
- macOS: Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/desktop_assistant_app/logs
- Windows: Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\desktop_assistant_app\logs
